in the guide to becoming god amonst mortals, i found that a good way to get eotn rep points was turning in handbooks

"First of all, save the hero handbooks and dungeon handbooks you get, while beating the game, for the asuran and vanguard boosting, since they are the hardest."

however it seems that you only get a limited amount of them?? like once you complete a handbook you can't get another

question is: Is there a limit to the number of handbooks you can get

No, there is no limit. It's just that you can only fill out one book at a time. If you had two books in your inventory, you'd have to do the same primary quest twice to get both of them filled out.

after you reach rank 8 in those title tracks you have to turn in HM handbooks, as the NPC collectors for them will no longer reward you with points for NM books when you try to hand them in.

Something else that hasn't been mentioned. To get more than one book at a time: you have to get it, put it in storage, then get another. Once you reach r8 for a certain rep, you can't get any more normal mode books from only that NPC.
